KITUTU COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTER

KITUTU COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTER

Aid Kenya Foundation,  a humanitarian aid and development assistance charitable foundation in Kenya in partnership with Kitutu Community Development Association (KCDA), a community based organization in Kitutu Village, Kisii County in South western Kenya near Lake Victoria has established The Kitutu Community Resource Center (The Kitutu iHub) to help empower the community with information, training, skills and knowledge on 1. Millennium Development Goals (MDGs):
i). Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger;
ii). Achieve universal primary education;
iii). Promote gender equality and empower women;
iv). Reduce child mortality;
v). Improve maternal health;
vi). Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases;
vii). Ensure environmental sustainability; and
viii). Develop a global partnership for development.
2. Entrepreneurship;
3. Innovation & Value Addition;
4. Talent Development and Incubation;
5. Technology and ICT;
6. Providing shelter and day-care services to orphans and teenage mothers;
7. Offering Vocational Training to the youth;
8. Offering community library services;
9. Acting as a Focal Center for local and international volunteers on experiential learning and cultural exchange; and
10. Promoting culture of the local people.

The Kitutu iHub is projected to benefit over 10,000 beneficiaries thereby transforming their lives directly and indirectly. Among those we have targeted are in and out of school youth, small-scale farmers, youth and women groups, teenage mothers, and the disadvantaged poor from the Kitutu Village, Kisii County in the republic of Kenya and beyond. 4Health Centers (Dispensaries) and over 10 primary and secondary schools as well as farmers from 3 tea buying centres and an orphanage/pre-school within the Center in the densely populated Kitutu Village will benefit

The Kitutu iHub will be linked local community based organizations (CBOs), County and National Governments, Professionals, United Nations, Diplomatic Missions, The Diaspora, Colleges and Universities, Corporations, and International Development Partners to meet its initial Budget of USD$150,000. The iHub will act as the grassroot base and regional office for the implementation of the Aid Kenya Foundation’s HADAP’s Gifts-of-Love Project within the region.

Rural Kenya has limited information and development and we believe the Kitutui iHub will expand the flow of information thereby helping changing lives, impacting humanity.
